The 109 has been developed for testing coatings using colour coded test elements which break at a predetermined force of 5MPa, 7MPa or 9MPa. (Other values are available on request).
If the test element breaks then the coating adhesion is acceptable. A piece of the test element will remain adhered to the surface and the colour band indicates the force the coating has withstood. If the coating breaks then the coating adhesion has failed to meet the requirements of the specification.
Glue the element to the coating and wait to dry

Apply the force to the element until the element is removed
