Product Description

The Elcometer 208 and 208DL Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges are rugged & repeatable hand held gauges designed to non-destructively measure the thickness of metal substrates whilst ignoring the thickness of up to 2mm  of an applied coating (Echo to Echo mode).T92016967    5MHz High Damped Transducer – Steel Applications
T92016968    7.5MHz High Damped Transducer – Aluminium, Stainless Steel & Titanium ApplicationsSupplied with or without data logging, each gauge can be used with the wide range of measurement transducers and is supplied with a wide range of functionality including Scan mode and Alarm mode.Elcometer 208DL only – ElcoMaster™2.0

Definitions:

Echo-to-Echo Mode:
Measuring materials as thin as 0.15mm the Echo-to-Echo mode ignores the thickness of any coating applied to the surface under inspection.

Scan Mode:
Measuring up to 16 readings per second, the gauge captures the minimum recorded thickness.

Alarm Mode:
Once a minimum acceptable thickness has been set, a red LED illuminates and a buzzer sounds if a measurement falls below the preset value.

The Elcometer 208 and 208DL Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges can be used in accordance with:

  • ASTM E 797
  • EN 15317
