SACS 86 Old Boys Comments from Guys who could not make the 20 year reunion From Mark Price : Good evening All Firstly , Graham ..what an excellent job you're doing/have done ..even though I cant make it , I appreciate all the hard work you've put in over the past few years. Thanks for keeping me in the loop,It's been interesting following via email who's doing what..Please keep it up. Well done & Thank you. To rest of you's reprobates & troglodites( a la Mariekie)..so many faces I haven't seen in years , seriously going to miss seeing you all again, will be back in Cape Town in mid July for a week ,hopefully will be able to see some of you's then. Bleeks, Bendix & Mucus ..cant tell you how I appreciate that you were prepared to fly me out, but alas the timing & Ront factor was against us ….you's are true mates & SACS men. To Nick King Dong Reyeneke ..you are a real doos . I was really disappointed that you could not pay for my flight..surely you could've afforded some Ront from all the royalties you have earned for providing the mould for the biggest selling dildo in the sex industry history.? it is common knowledge that the Mighty Mo Throbber 2000 has sold over 10 million units so far.It is a big seller in Japan, China , Iceland ,Papa new Guinea ,the U.S. & Canada.., hell ,my wife is not interested in me anymore & I'm pushing 8 inches...slack !..she's got 3, including the black model!) So thanks , Nick , you're a real pal. soooo, Bleeks, Bendix, Epost, LarryKatz, Wackso , Kirshy, Joe Blob , Clacky and any other gentlemen who are always on the look out for a good investment ,look no further than Reynekes Big Knob..(better watch your eyes though!!!!!) I am still in touch with Wiseman (some of you will remember my former garden boy , he would like to send his special regards to: Lance Bleekers (do you see a trend here? Hodgson & Clacky basically paid for Wisemans Merc, he was very fond of them two!!!) Ok,enough horseshit, have a great evening Cheers Pubic /Pubes/ pekkie / kaff's / Knees Price PS..if anyone happens to comes to Calgary , Canada , you got as place to stay contact me via the website PPS.. Epost,.where out though ?? drop me a line. From Russel Birdl : Hi Graham, As i mentioned in an earlier email to you, could not make the reunion due to work and wanted to say that the pics look great and it was good to see so many familiar faces.... Well done to all who organised the event. I was surprised to see the changes at SACS (but considering i have not visited the old school for 20 years i should not be!)and will make a determined effort to get there when next in CT. A small world we live in - bumped into Craig Lamb at a bar (no surprises there!!!)in Dubai a few months back and he is now living here so we catch up for a few as often as possible. Anyone visiting the UAE, please feel free to call me on 00971 506406097 and we can catch up on old times..... Dubai 7's is on in December and it's a great place to be for a gathering. Once again apologies for not making it.....I reckon we should set a date now for the 25th Reunion and go large!!! From Jimmy Wall : Hi Graham, sorry to get back to you so late.I was trying to sort out my timetable and there is no way I can make the function.I am very dissapointed and will now stay in contact with the guys through your site. From James Brooks : Good work on organising the reunion, too bad that I'm not in CT as it sounds like it will be great evening. Send my best to everyone and I look forward to seeing the photos. Cheers, James From Nico van Wieringen : Morning Graham, I'm in the throws of going to Canton China for business over that period so unfortunately at this stage I will be unable to attend. Should there be an alteration to this that allows me to attend I will let you know. Many Thanks Nico From Justin Powers : Hi Graham I've read all you mail with interest, but unfortunately will not be able to make it due to long standing commitment that weekend. If things change I'll certainly make every effort to be there. I shall certainly miss you all if I don't get to be there. Justin
From Roark Taplin (was van der Merwe) : Graham, unfortunately I will be away on business over that period, sorry for the late response but we have been waiting to hear if the trip would be confirmed or not. I think I am really going to miss out on a great evening, please send my best wishes to all the guys and send some pics after the event.... From Vaughan Miller : Dear Graham From Boatie Biller : "Gents" Just a short note to let you know that I am with you in spirit as we celebrate 20 years of being SACS men. I was only there for two years, but it was by far the best school I went to......and the one where my heart is. Last August I was in Cape Town with my fiance' Tracey and I took her around the school for a tour. I was immensely proud showing her the place and I reckon she was impressed. It really is an incredible privilege to be associated with the school and its people. I read a couple of years ago that Gordon Law had retired. What an icon he was.....a Master at his trade! I reckon he was born for the job! Hopefully the new bloke can follow in his footsteps. I remember the 15th reunion, where Gordon gave a speech, where amongst other things, he lamented the demise of the cane. To me that highlighted how much things are changing as we move into the "Age of Paranoia". How different it is from the carefree 80s now. These days if your kid falls off a piece of play equipment at your local child care centre, they have to fill in an incident report form. Thanks to Graham for doing all the organising and keeping the network/e-mail addresses together. You are doing a great job and we all appreciate it. The other day my old mate- and fellow warhorse- Jimmy Wall sent me an e-mail. I hadn't heard from him since I last scrummed down with him 20 years ago for the mighty Third team. It really made my day. The highlight of playing for the Third team was seeing Reyneke do a two fingered salute from under the poles after scoring against Bishops. How do you forget that! Anyway, my news is I am moving to the UK from Sydney shortly where I will be getting married later this year to Tracey (from Glasgow ). I am looking forward to settling into a life of whisky drinking in the Scottish highlands, rugby at Murryfield and golf at St Andrews ............and 5 hours of daylight in the middle of winter. Also getting back to Africa more regularly. So there it is guys, have a great night and how about a toast to those of us overseas. Cheers Boatie.
From Greg Flederman : Hi Graham I wanted to say thank you for all your hard work in putting the reunion together, I really appreciate your efforts and wish that circumstances were different and would allow me to attend. As it stands I will most likely be in South Africa towards the end of May and would like to get together for a beer with you and any other "ex-SACS-men" when I'm in town. Just to show you and the rest of the chaps how we have have matured as we have aged I have attached a couple of pictures of myself and Marc Price taken last year. I hope you all have a great Reunion and I hope (once again) to see you all in another 5 years!! Best Regards Greg Flederman From Andre MacDonald : Hi Graham I've been enviously following all your email traffic over the past weeks, but sadly will not be able to be there. I am in the US and am planning on coming out in September, so will not be there this weekend...will be in spirit though! Can't believe that it is 20 years..... Have a good one. Give the guys my best regards. Regards Andre
From Mike Stonier : Graham Just wanted to say that I hope you guys have a great time this weekend. Cannot believe that it has been so long since matric and looking back at all the names in the list bring back many memories. It is a pity that circumstances dictate that I cannot be there, but I hope that everyone has a great time, I am sure that you all will. Best regards Mike From Stu Juds : Hi Graham send regards to those who remember me. some guys I have not seen for 25 years! have a good time stu From Mark Browne : Graham, From James Ogle : Hi Graham, Geez, it's been a while... Good to hear from you! First of all, congratulations on the new addition to your rugby team. I had a look at your website - the photos look great. I've been living and working in Zurich for the last 8 years, still enjoying the bachelor life. The Swiss culture takes some getting used to. Everything is over-regulated and you a permit for everything. The weather sucks! I'm pretty fluent in high German and rarely speak English. Looks like I'll to be missing out on all the good parties. Have a blast on Friday. Regards to everyone. ps: please send me the pictures or post them on you website. re: lost sheep - I think Alistair Lanz is living in Bern , but have not been able to get hold of him Freundliche Grüsse James From Cameron Hayes : One wife, one new born baby and two In-laws equals 4 problems to overcome. Sorry guys !! Cameron |
