One Day Training Course

The one day training will cover the big 7 in Elcometer’s range, and will be a relatively hands on course :
- Ultrasonic Material Thickness
- Climatic Condition Testing
- Surface Cleanliness – in more detail than previous years
- Surface Profile – in more detail than previous years
- Coating Thickness – Wet & Dry – in more detail than previous years
- Adhesion
- Pinhole / Porosity
The course will cover items such as:
– Calibrating a Dry Film Coating Thickness Gauge
– Taking surface profile readings with a Digital gauge as well as Testex Tape – we will cover recent changes in the ASTM Standard
– Recording climatic conditions and what key information to look out for
– Downloading readings to a computer and generating reports
The course will include latest products in the Elcometer range :
– Elcometer MTG8 Ultrasonic Material Thickness Gauge
– Elcometer 319 Dewpoint Meter with Bluetooth
– Elcometer 130 SSP Soluble Profiler Salt Contamination Meter
– Elcometer 224 Digital Surface Profile Gauge
– Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauge / Digital Dry Film Thickness Gauges (DFTG)
– Elcometer 510 Automatic Pull Off Adhesion Tester
– Elcometer 266 DC High Voltage Holiday Detector

Ongoing developments in the data transfer, storage and reporting of Coating Inspection Data
The full day course was SSPC approved in 2011. This will be a summarised version of the SSPC course
The training will cover ElcoMaster Paperless QA and include the following:
- Reasons for wanting a Paperless QA process
- Create a digital Coating Technical Report by importing your readings directly from each of the gauge types into Elcomaster 2.0
The morning course will expand on the presentation made at the Corrosion Awareness Day in 2019 entitled Ongoing developments in the data transfer, storage and reporting of Coating Inspection Data

You are welcome to bring a Laptop and Smartphone to get the most out of the course, but if these are not available you will still leave the course having learnt a lot about the features of the FREE Elcometer ElcoMaster software, and gain an insight into the power of the software, using:
- The desktop inbuilt ElcoMaster templates
- The custom reporting option, as well as the
- Very user friendly ElcoMaster Mobile.
The course will also include the following aspects which featured in previous full day course:
– Generating Reports for various applications and in various formats including your own in-house templates
– Combining reports to include Climate, Surface Profile and Coating Thickness as well as Ultrasonic Thickness, Salt Measurement and Adhesion
– Importing application photographs and including readings on the photographs for the report
Delegates will receive a certificate on completion of the course.

The FREE ElcoMaster software package can be downloaded from either Google Play or Apple App Store and provides you with the ability to store readings from any Bluetooth enabled gauge from Elcometer together with:
– Inspection photographs
– GPS coordinates of where each measurement was taken
– Inspection notes
– Gauge serial numbers
– Calibration information, and much, much more.
Elcometer have recently launched a series of videos to demonstrate the functionality and ease of use of the ElcoMaster software for desktops as well as the ElcoMaster Mobile for tablets and smart phones.
