The Moisture Encounter Plus is a non-destructive moisture meter for measuring moisture in wood, plaster, drywall, block, brick, roofing and most other materials found in the building envelope. It is an upgraded version of the original Moisture Encounter and carries over its core capabilities. The value of a non-destructive reading is that you can assess moisture, and locate damp behind a finish, without drilling, puncturing or otherwise marking the surface being tested. This product is discontinued.

The meter works by signal penetration rather than pins. Rubber electrode pads sit in direct contact with the material, which improves sensitivity and the depth of signal penetration, and the meter detects elevated moisture through covering materials such as ceramic tile, drywall, carpet, vinyl flooring, VCT, floor laminates, wall coverings, roofing membranes and coatings. Three ranges of sensitivity let the user match the reading to the material being checked.

This makes the instrument suited to surveying both new and existing buildings, where finished surfaces must stay intact while moisture is investigated. As a discontinued model, replacement recommendations are available on request. Supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
