The Concrete Moisture Encounter Moisture Meter CME4 measures moisture content instantly in concrete floors and floor screeds without drilling or damaging the surface. This model is discontinued. Regular checking during the drying-out period of a new floor or screed matters because installing a covering before the concrete is sufficiently dry can cause latent problems such as condensation or failure of the adhesive under the covering.

The CME4 gives an instant reading of moisture content up to 6 percent for concrete, and a 0 to 10 comparative reading for sand/cement (gypsum) floor screed, helping you decide when to install the floor covering. Operation is simple: switch on and hold the instrument firmly against the surface. As many non-destructive tests as needed can be carried out in seconds, without drilling or damaging the concrete. The meter measures electronically to a depth of penetration of 12.5mm.

The CME4 has an extruded aluminium body measuring 150 x 75 x 33mm, weighs 298g, runs on a 9 volt PP3 battery and uses an analogue display. It was supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor, for use by flooring and concrete coating professionals.
