The Elcometer 205, 206 and 206 DL Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges are a range of three robust, hand-held gauges for making reliable thickness measurements or scanning a length of material for defects or its thinnest point using scan mode. These models have been discontinued; please contact us for a recommendation of a suitable replacement. The gauges address a routine inspection problem: measuring remaining material thickness, and finding the worst point of corrosion or wear, from one side only, without cutting into the part.

Each gauge offers three calibration options, single point, two point and speed of sound selection, allowing accurate measurements across a wide range of materials. They are compatible with a wide range of measurement transducers and all include a backlight for measuring in darkened environments. The gauges are available with or without memory: the higher models add differential mode and alarm mode, with the Elcometer 206 DL providing data logging and ElcoMaster software for transferring and reporting readings. Scan mode captures the minimum recorded thickness as the probe is moved across the surface.

The gauges can be used in accordance with ASTM E797 and EN 15317, the recognised methods for ultrasonic thickness measurement. They are used in corrosion monitoring, maintenance and inspection across petrochemical, marine, structural steel and general industry.
