The Elcometer Access Door & Assembly is the inspection hatch door, gasket and fastening hardware used to open, seal and service Elcometer abrasive blast machines. The doorway of the Elcometer Access Door is wide enough to admit both arms, which makes internal inspection and routine servicing of the blast pot quicker and less awkward than reaching through a small opening.
A leaking or misaligned hatch wastes abrasive and compromises the seal a blast machine needs to hold pressure, so each Elcometer Access Door is fitted with an ElcoFit wrap-around sealing gasket. The gasket aligns itself as the door is closed, removing the guesswork of seating a flat gasket correctly and reducing the chance of an air or media leak after maintenance. If the yoke or threaded nut wears, those parts can be sourced and replaced individually rather than scrapping the whole assembly of the Elcometer Access Door.
The range for the Elcometer Access Door covers the main fitting types. The MT29693 hatch door suits the Elcometer 1020, while MT28616 fits all other Elcometer blast machines. The MT28613 ElcoFit gasket, MT28615 yoke and the M16 x 110mm hatch bolts (MT29695 BSP and MT29695N NPT/NPSM) are available as spares for the Elcometer Access Door, along with M16 flanged nuts in BSP (MT29696) and NPT/NPSM (MT29696N) threads. Which hatch door should I specify for my Elcometer blast machine?
For the Elcometer 1020, order MT29693. For all other Elcometer blast machines, order MT28616. Both are designed to provide convenient access for inspection and servicing.
Are the bolts and nuts available in different thread types?
Yes. Both the M16 x 110mm Inspection Door Hatch Bolt and M16 Hexagon Flanged Nut are available in BSP thread or NPT/NPSM thread versions. Check your machine documentation to confirm which thread type you need.
Can I replace just the door seal or gasket?
The ElcoFit™ Door Sealing Gasket (MT28613) is supplied separately and is universal across Elcometer blast machines, so you can replace it without replacing the door itself.
What makes the access doorway easier to service than a standard port?
The large doorway is wide enough to accommodate both of your arms, allowing easy inspection and servicing of the blast machine interior without contortions.
Are all the assembly components interchangeable across different Elcometer models?
