About this product

Air Supply Ball Valves are isolation valves fitted between the air hose and the moisture separator on a blasting setup, used to disconnect the compressed air supply from the blast machine. The Air Supply Ball Valve is what lets an operator cut the air to the machine before maintenance, so servicing can be carried out without the line still under compressor pressure.

Closing the Air Supply Ball Valve isolates the compressor from the blast machine, which makes it safe to work on the equipment downstream. Because the Air Supply Ball Valve sits ahead of the moisture separator, it controls the supply at the point where the air enters the blast circuit.

The range of Air Supply Ball Valves covers a spread of sizes to match different hose and fitting bores: 76mm, 51mm, 38mm, 32mm, 25mm and 19mm male-female ball valves, a 6mm female-female ball valve, and a 6mm male adaptor. Each is available in BSP and in NPT/NPSM thread types, for example the 76mm valve as MT30189 (BSP) and MT30189N (NPT/NPSM), the 19mm as MT28610 and MT28610N, and the 6mm adaptor as MT30085 and MT30085N. Supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised Elcometer distributor.

    Frequently asked questions

When do I need an air supply ball valve?

Use an air supply ball valve to isolate the compressor during maintenance work. It safely disconnects the compressed air from your blast machine, preventing pressurised air from escaping whilst you service your equipment.

What thread type should I choose, BSP or NPT?

Each valve size is available in both BSP and NPT/NPSM thread versions. Select the thread type that matches your existing air hose and moisture separator fittings. Your current equipment connections will determine which you need.

    What sizes are available?

The range includes 76mm, 51mm, 38mm, 32mm, 25mm, 19mm, and 6mm variants. Choose the size that matches your air line diameter to ensure a proper fit between the hose and moisture separator.

Where does the valve fit in my air system?

The ball valve is fitted between the air hose and the moisture separator. This positioning allows you to isolate the compressor safely from your downstream equipment.

What is the difference between the 6mm female-female valve and the 6mm male adaptor?

The 6mm female-female ball valve (MT28619/MT28619N) is a shutoff valve for your air line. The 6mm male adaptor (MT30085/MT30085N) is a threaded connector piece. Choose based on whether you need an isolation point or just a connection interface.
