The IR 882 High Performance Infrared Thermometer is a non-contact temperature measurement instrument from a general-purpose series, now discontinued. Non-contact infrared measurement lets users read surface temperatures at a distance, which is useful where a target is hot, moving, energised or otherwise unsafe to touch, removing the need to interrupt a process to take a reading.

The IR 882 features a high distance-to-spot ratio for measuring smaller or more distant targets, and a backlit dual-display LCD for reading in low light. Switchable laser sighting helps aim the instrument at the intended point, while an electronic trigger lock supports continuous monitoring. Temperature data storage retains readings, and audible alarms signal when set conditions are met. Ultra-low power consumption in shutdown mode and extended long-term measuring reliability support sustained field use.

This model has been discontinued. BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor, can advise on a current instrument to replace it.
