The Leica Disto D3a BT Laser Distance Meter is a laser distance meter with integrated Bluetooth and a tilt sensor, now discontinued. Bluetooth lets measurement results transfer wirelessly and accurately to Pocket PCs and PCs, so readings can be processed directly in Excel, Word, AutoCAD and other programs without re-keying, which removes a common source of transcription error.

The D3a BT measures over a range of 0.05 to 100m with a typical accuracy of plus or minus 1.0mm. Its Smart Horizontal Mode combines distance and tilt measurement to determine the shortest horizontal distance at inclinations up to plus or minus 45 degrees, allowing measurement over the top of objects and people. The tilt sensor also measures angles up to plus or minus 45 degrees at the touch of a button. A flip-out end piece with automatic detection ensures reliable measurement from edges or out of corners.

The instrument calculates rectangular and triangular areas, volumes and room dimensions, offers several Pythagoras functions for indirect height and width measurements, and includes a stake-out function and a time delay release, with memory for up to 20 measurements shown on an illuminated four-line display. It is IP54 rated and ships with the Leica DISTO Transfer software and an AutoCAD plug-in. This model has been discontinued.
