The AZ 7701 Portable CO Meter is a pocket-sized instrument that measures carbon monoxide concentration in parts per million (ppm). Carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless, and rising concentrations are dangerous to anyone in an enclosed space, so a meter that reads the CO level and warns when it climbs is used to check air quality in cars, hospitals, factories and other areas where it matters.
An electrochemical CO sensor drives the reading, shown on a back-lit digital LCD that suits dimly lit environments. The AZ 7701 Portable CO Meter displays both the live carbon monoxide level and the recorded maximum value. A concentration alarm triggers above 25 ppm to flag a dangerous level, and the warning threshold is adjustable to suit different uses. The AZ 7701 Portable CO Meter supports 2-point user calibration at 0 and 500 ppm, toggles between degrees C and F, and has a low-battery indicator.
The CO range of the AZ 7701 Portable CO Meter is 0 to 999 ppm at 1 ppm resolution. Accuracy is plus or minus 20% from 0 to 100 ppm and plus or minus 15% from 100 to 500 ppm, with a response time within 60 seconds. The AZ 7701 Portable CO Meter runs on 3 AAA batteries for about 300 hours of life, operates from 0 to 50 degrees C and weighs about 120g. Supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
