The Elcometer B-Type Pneumatic Remote Control Handle (part number RCHB-B / RCHB-N), also known as a deadman's handle, lets an operator safely activate and deactivate a blast machine from the nozzle end of the hose. It is an essential safety element for abrasive blasting: if the operator loses control of the nozzle, the handle stops the blast, preventing an uncontrolled, pressurised stream of abrasive.
The handle connects to the remote control valve using a twinline remote control hose and fastens to the blast nozzle. The operator holds the rubber button down to blast; releasing it shuts the machine off. A fail-safe design with a built-in safety switch guards against accidental switch-on, and the long-life rubber button is easy to change and completes the seal needed for safe operation.
The B-Type Pneumatic Remote Control Handle is available with two thread types to match the installation: BSP thread as part number RCHB-B, and NPT / NPSM thread as part number RCHB-N. Replacement rubber stop buttons are available in packs of five (MT28514-5) and twenty-five (MT28514-25). It is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised Elcometer distributor.
