About this product

The Earthing Wire Assembly, part number MT30128, is an accessory for Elcometer abrasive blast machines that prevents static electricity building up at the rear of the blast pot. The Earthing Wire Assembly attaches quickly to the back of the machine.

Abrasive flowing through a blast system generates static charge, which can accumulate on the machine and become a hazard. The front leg plates of all Elcometer's abrasive blast machines have an uncoated base to dissipate that static build up at the front. The Earthing Wire Assembly extends the same protection to the back of the pot, where the front leg plates do not reach, giving the machine a dedicated path to dissipate static at the rear.

The Earthing Wire Assembly is a universal part suited to Elcometer's abrasive blast machine range. It is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor of Elcometer equipment.

When to use the Earthing Wire Assembly

Fit this assembly to an Elcometer abrasive blast machine to prevent static electricity building up at the rear of the pot. It is the accessory you add when the uncoated front leg plates alone are not enough to dissipate static across the whole machine.

    • 1
Protects the rear of the pot
The front leg plates dissipate static at the base, but the earthing wire addresses build up at the back of the machine where it would otherwise be left uncontrolled.
    • 2
      Quick to attach
It attaches quickly to the rear of the machine, so static control can be put in place without disrupting the blasting set-up.
    • 3
      Matches Elcometer blast machines
It is made to fit Elcometer's abrasive blast machines, so it integrates with the pot you already run rather than needing a workaround.

    Frequently asked questions

Why does my blast machine need earthing at the rear if the front leg plates already dissipate static?

The uncoated front leg plates only dissipate static from the front of the machine. The rear of the pot is unprotected and requires the Earthing Wire Assembly to prevent static electricity build-up at the back.

How does the Earthing Wire Assembly attach to the machine?

The assembly is designed to quickly attach to the rear of the machine, providing the grounding protection the front leg plates cannot cover.

What happens if the rear of the pot is not earthed?

Static electricity can build-up at the back of the pot if the rear is unprotected. The Earthing Wire Assembly prevents this hazard at the point the front leg plates cannot reach.
