The Elcometer 38mm ID 12bar Blast Hose Extension is an abrasive blast hose used to extend an existing blast hose when it cannot reach the work area. On large blasting jobs the standoff between the blast machine and the surface being cleaned is often greater than a single hose run, and a poorly specified extension limits airflow, abrasive delivery and operator safety, which is the problem this hose addresses.

The hose has an internal diameter of 38 mm, an outside diameter of 56 mm and a minimum bend radius of 305 mm, with a maximum working pressure of 12 bar and a three times safety margin. It is supplied in 10 m or 20 m lengths complete with blast hose, twinline remote control hose and two quick couplings, which are available in nylon or cast iron and in BSP or NPT/NPSM threads (part numbers in the BH38 series). The inner wall is made from a natural and styrene-butadiene rubber compound with carbon black, giving an abrasion resistance of 50 mm3 to DIN53516 and an anti-static rating of R less than 10 to the power 6 ohms per metre, which dissipates static electricity to ground and protects the operator from static shock. The tough, weather-resistant outer cover prolongs hose life, and a two-ply cross-pattern braid reinforcement adds strength while allowing the hose to flex.
