The Elcometer 38mm Moisture Separator (part numbers MT28617 and MT28617N) is an in-line air treatment unit that prevents moisture and oil from the compressor reaching the abrasive blast machine. Compressed air carries water and oil that, if allowed into the blast pot, make the abrasive damp so it clumps and clogs the machine, interrupting blasting and contaminating the prepared surface. Removing that contamination keeps the media flowing and the surface clean.
The Elcometer 38mm Moisture Separator eliminates up to 98% of the moisture and oil from the compressed air before it enters the blast machine, keeping the abrasive dry. The Elcometer 38mm Moisture Separator is rated to a working pressure of 15 bar, and rather than using a glass viewing area it is built without one so there is no glass to break under pressure. The unit is offered in two variants, the PED part number MT28617 and the ASME part number MT28617N, with replaceable internal components including the filter element, air deflector and vessel available as spare parts for the Elcometer 38mm Moisture Separator.
