The Elcometer 40C Contractor Portable Abrasive Blast Machine (part number M40B-G) is a 40 litre portable blast pot rated to a maximum working pressure of 12 bar, intended for mobile contractors carrying out small blasting jobs. Surface preparation by abrasive blasting needs equipment that is reliable, easy to maintain and safe to operate; downtime from a clogged or awkward-to-service machine costs a contractor time on site, which the 40C is built to avoid.

The Elcometer 40C Contractor Portable Abrasive Blast Machine uses industry-standard remote control valves, grit valves and 32 mm pipework throughout for consistent airflow. The Automatic General Valve includes a built-in fail-safe that shuts off both the blast stream and the media flow at the handle, reducing wastage and improving safety. A high-flow concave dish with a deflector plate speeds filling, a 45/90 degree fast-flow cone maximises abrasive flow rate, and a high-performance moisture separator stops water and oil entering the blast pot. The large inspection doorway is wide enough to fit both arms for easy servicing, and optional waterproof sieves and lids keep the media dry. The 40 litre pot holds 94 kg of garnet grit or 176 kg of steel shot, measures 1015 mm high, 615 mm wide and 714 mm deep, weighs 95 kg and operates from 0 to 60 degrees C. The kit includes a remote control valve, exhaust silencer, 10 m pneumatic control hose, Deadman's Handle, choke valve, abrasive metering valve and moisture separator.

It is tested and certified to PED 2014/68EU and PE(s)R 2016. Used in surface preparation and corrosion control, it is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised Elcometer distributor.
