The Elcometer Manual Media Shut Off Valve and Flange Assembly (part numbers SOV-B for the PED version and SOV-N for the ASME version), known as the Elcometer SOV, stops the flow of abrasive so you can service the media valve without wasting abrasive. On a charged blast machine, replacing a worn rubber liner or servicing the media valve would normally mean emptying the pot first; the SOV closes off the abrasive supply at any time, even when the machine still contains media, so that maintenance can be carried out without losing the abrasive already loaded.
The Elcometer Manual Media Shut Off Valve and Flange Assembly fits all Elcometer abrasive blast machines that use automatic or general media valves, excluding the Elcometer 1020, and simply screws into the pot coupling. Servicing the valve itself is straightforward: the operator takes out the split pin and removes the valve. A steel flange is supplied for the connection, available in BSP or NPT to match the PED or ASME version, and a service kit including O-rings and the split pin is available.
Used in surface preparation and abrasive blasting operations to reduce abrasive wastage and downtime during media valve maintenance, and supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised Elcometer distributor.
