The Elcometer RCV4000+ Remote Control Valve 19mm (PED part number RCV4000P-75B, ASME part number RCV4000P-75N) is a pneumatic remote control valve that combines two valves in one unit, the lower controlling the compressed air inlet and the upper controlling the exhaust outlet as air exits the abrasive blast machine. It lets the operator safely start, stop and depressurise the blast machine from the nozzle rather than at the machine itself, which is central to safe operation in abrasive blasting.
Control is by a pneumatic deadman's handle connected to the Elcometer RCV4000+ Remote Control Valve 19mm through two airline hoses, known as twinline. Closing the deadman's lever activates both valves simultaneously, and releasing it deactivates the RCV4000+ immediately. The blast machine can also be depressurised by opening the red safety petcock on the valve body, which acts as an emergency stop for the system.
The RCV4000+ includes an integrated air manifold with multiple air outlets for ancillary equipment such as pressure gauges, ball vibration units, a breathe air filter and a pressure relief valve. The valve is available in three sizes: this 19mm version for the Elcometer 1020 Blast Machine, a 38mm version for larger Elcometer blast machines and a 32mm version for other blast machines. What does the RCV4000+ actually control on the blast machine?
The RCV4000+ combines two valves in one unit. The lower valve controls the compressed air inlet to the blast machine and the upper valve controls the exhaust outlet as air leaves, so both supply and exhaust are managed from a single remote point.
What's the difference between the RCV4000P-75B and RCV4000P-75N versions?
Each version has its own spare parts list with its own part numbers, for example the male adaptor is MT30022 on the -75B and MT30022N on the -75N. Check which SKU matches your existing valve before ordering spares.
Can I replace worn seals without swapping out the whole RCV4000+ unit?
Yes. The piston lip seal (38 x 50 x 6), rubber valve seat, and the various o-rings are all listed as individual spare parts, so worn seals can be replaced on their own rather than replacing the complete valve.
What service kits are available for routine maintenance?
Four kits are available: RCV Service Kit 1 (MT30055, contains items 3, 5, 9, 12 and 15), RCV Service Kit 2 (MT30056, contains item 8), RCV Service Kit 3 (MT30072, contains the Allen key and RCV tool), and RCV Service Kit 4 (MT28605 on the -75B, MT28605N on the -75N, contains items 11 and 23).
What adaptor sizes are available if my pipework doesn't match the valve's ports?
A male adaptor steps 3/4 inch up to 1 inch (MT30022 on the -75B, MT30022N on the -75N), and a 1 1/2 inch x 1 1/2 inch reducing bush (MT28594 / MT28594N) is also listed, letting the RCV4000+ connect to differently sized pipework.
Does the RCV4000+ meet a recognised standard?
Yes. It carries a British Standard Reference of BS4518, and its main o-ring (89.5mm ID x 3.0mm cord) is manufactured to that BS4518 specification.
