The Elcometer Safety Petcock 6mm HP Ball Valve (part number MT29656, or MT29656N for ASME machines) is a high-pressure isolation valve that fits to the Elcometer RCV4000 and RCV4000+ remote control valves on abrasive blast machines. Its job is to give the operator a fast, reliable way to shut down the blast in an emergency.

On a pressurised blast pot, an uncontrolled nozzle or a fault in the control circuit is a serious safety hazard. The Elcometer Safety Petcock 6mm HP Ball Valve addresses this directly: when actuated it isolates the deadman's handle circuit and depressurises the blast machine quickly, stopping the discharge and bleeding off stored pressure so the system is brought to a safe state.

The Elcometer Safety Petcock 6mm HP Ball Valve is finished in red and fitted with a large, easy-to-reach handle, so it can be found and operated without hesitation under pressure, including with gloved hands.
