The Leica DD175 Depth and GPS Package (part number 6017281) pairs the DD175 buried utility locator with the DA175 signal transmitter to detect the position of buried cables and pipes before excavation. Locating services in advance helps prevent operator injury, asset damage and the costs that follow an unexpected strike, and the package's advanced automatic controls make it easy to use with minimal user experience.
The locator detects the signals radiated by buried services. It provides Power mode (50 Hz or 60 Hz model), Radio mode (15 kHz to 60 kHz) and Auto, with transmitter modes at 32.768 (33) kHz, 8.192 (8) kHz, 512 Hz and 640 Hz for extended trace range. Depth range is 0.3 m to 3 m for a line and 0.3 m to 9.99 m for a sonde, with 10 percent depth accuracy and signal current measurement. The locator is rated IP54, runs about 15 hours on 6 x LR6 (AA) alkaline batteries and weighs 2.7 kg.
The supplied DA175 transmitter applies the signal in induction mode at 32.768 (33) kHz and 8.192 (8) kHz, or in direct-connection mode adding 512 Hz and 640 Hz, with up to 1 Watt output into a 300 ohm buried service. It is rated IP67 with the cover closed and IP65 open, runs around 30 hours of intermittent use on 4 x D alkaline (IEC LR20) batteries and weighs 2.5 kg.
An integrated GPS and Bluetooth module with internal data logging lets results be shared with the DX Software Suite. The package is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

How long will the batteries last on site?
The receiver runs for 15 hours on continuous use with six AA alkaline batteries. The transmitter operates for approximately 30 hours on intermittent use with four D alkaline batteries.
Can the DD175 operate in wet or muddy site conditions?
The receiver is rated IP54, dust and splash resistant. The transmitter is rated IP67 with cover closed (waterproof to 1 metre depth) and IP65 with cover open (splash resistant).
What transmission frequencies does the DD175 operate at?
