The Leica DD300 Connect Depth Package (part numbers 1003191 and 1003819, no longer supplied) is a utility locator solution that pairs the DD300 Connect locator with the DA300 1 Watt signal transmitter for the detection of underground pipes and cables. It is built to suit basic through to expert users, improving safety by mitigating the risks faced by anyone working on a construction site where buried services must be found before excavation.
The locator uses a digital trim that helps pinpoint the desired target even in multi-target environments, with the operator managing the gain bar manually while locating. It offers Power mode (50/60 Hz mains and harmonics), Radio (15 kHz to 60 kHz) and Auto, plus transmitter modes spanning 131.072 (131) kHz, 83.078 (83) kHz, 32.768 (33) kHz, 8.192 (8) kHz, 512 Hz and 640 Hz; the 83 kHz frequency bridges the gap from 33 kHz to 131 kHz. Depth range is 0.1 m to 7 m for a line and 0.1 m to 10 m for a sonde, with 5 percent depth accuracy. An LCD colour screen with video tutorials guides a step-by-step survey.
The locator carries 8 GB internal memory, u-blox GPS, Bluetooth and an IP65 rating, runs about 10 hours on 4 x LR20 alkaline batteries (Li-Ion optional) and weighs 2.86 kg. The DA300 transmitter outputs up to 1 Watt, is rated IP67 and runs around 15 hours. Both connect to DX Shield software for utility analysis and reporting that reduces utility strikes, repair costs and project downtime.

What are the maximum detection depths for line tracing and sonde use?
Line tracing detects pipes up to 7 metres deep, whilst sonde detection extends to 10 metres. Depth accuracy is 5% to an undistorted signal.
How long will the batteries last on a single charge?
The DD300 receiver operates for 10 hours on alkaline batteries, whilst the DA300 transmitter runs for 15 hours. Lithium-ion batteries are available as an optional alternative.
What are the environmental protection ratings?
The DD300 receiver is IP65 rated, the DA300 transmitter is IP67 rated. Both operate between -20°C and +50°C, suitable for harsh construction site conditions.
Can the system record pipe locations with GPS?
Yes, integrated GPS provides 2.5 metre horizontal accuracy (autonomous) or 2.0 metre accuracy with SBAS correction, allowing you to map and record detected pipe locations on site.
