The Elcometer 132 Safety Torch / Flash Light (H132-1A) is an intrinsically safe, explosion proof torch for inspection in low light or dark areas where explosive gas may be present, such as ballast tanks and oil and gas tanks. In these environments sufficient light is needed both for personal safety and so that the coating can be inspected adequately, but a standard torch cannot be used where an ignition source is a hazard.
The Elcometer 132 Safety Torch meets the ATEX directive as category 2 equipment and is approved to the latest EN standards for electrical apparatus in potentially explosive atmospheres. This allows use in Group II applications, zones 1 and 2, with IIA and IIB gases, where the T4 temperature class permits.
The Elcometer 132 Safety Torch is powered by three LR20 (D) batteries, measures 250 x 65mm and weighs 656g. Used by coating inspectors and surface inspectors working in confined spaces, tanks and other hazardous areas, the Elcometer 132 Safety Torch is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
