The Elcometer Protective Coating Inspection Kit 4 is a packaged set of test equipment that lets an inspector assess a substrate before a coating is applied. Coating performance is largely set before the paint goes on, so the Elcometer Protective Coating Inspection Kit 4 groups together the checks that catch problems early, across surface inspection, weld inspection, surface cleanliness, climatic conditions, surface profile and coating thickness.
The Elcometer Protective Coating Inspection Kit 4 brings together a wider toolset than the entry-level kits. It includes the Elcometer 128 pictorial surface standards and Elcometer 131 inspection mirrors for surface and weld inspection, the Elcometer 144 paint safe marker pens and Elcometer 147 Cambridge weld gauge, the Elcometer 142 dust tape test kit and the Elcometer 138 Bresle kit with Elcometer 135 Bresle patches for surface cleanliness, the Elcometer 319 digital dewpoint meter for climatic conditions, the Elcometer 224 digital surface profile gauge, the Elcometer 112/3236 hexagonal stainless steel wet film combs, and the Elcometer 456 digital coating thickness gauge for dry film thickness.
The Elcometer Protective Coating Inspection Kit 4 can be used in accordance with a broad list of standards, including SSPC PA 2 and the SSPC VIS 1 to VIS 5 visual references, NACE RP0287, ASTM D 4417-C and ASTM D 4414-A, the ISO 8501-1 and ISO 8502 surface preparation and cleanliness methods, ASTM D 7091, ASTM D 2200, ISO 2360 and many others, so inspectors can report against the codes their projects require. Used in coatings inspection across marine, structural steel and protective coating work, the Elcometer Protective Coating Inspection Kit 4 is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised Elcometer distributor.
