The MontiPower MBX Pneumatic (SP-200-BMC) is an in-line air-powered drive unit that runs a range of wire belts and rubber eraser wheels for surface preparation. It was developed specifically for the automotive industry, where rust, scale and old coatings must be removed cleanly before repair or recoating.

Surface preparation determines how well the next coating holds, and inconsistent or aggressive methods can damage the substrate or leave an uneven profile. The MontiPower MBX Pneumatic rapidly removes corrosion and oxidation from both hard and soft material, cleaning surfaces evenly without clogging or gumming of the bristles. A specially designed gear reduction increases torque at the operating speed, and the low speed combined with light construction supports safe, controlled handling. The compact in-line form of the MontiPower MBX Pneumatic gives full visibility of the work surface and allows access into difficult areas.

The MontiPower MBX Pneumatic measures 260 mm long, 150 mm high including the handle and 70 mm wide, and weighs 1.1 kg, with a belt outer diameter of 100 mm. It requires a flow pressure of 6.2 bar (90 psi) and an average air consumption of 17.5 cfm (0.5 m3/min), running at an idle speed of 3,500 rpm. The threaded air inlet is Rp 1/4 inch, the required interior hose diameter is 9.5 mm (3/8 inch), vibration is 1 m/sec2 and the sound pressure level is 83 dB(A).
