About this product

The TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge (part number TT2113) is a handheld, microprocessor-controlled instrument for measuring the thickness of metallic and non-metallic materials, including aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics and glass, provided the material conducts ultrasound and has parallel top and bottom surfaces. Because the TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge works from one side only, it is used where access to both faces is impossible and to monitor pipes and pressure vessels for wall loss due to corrosion, a check that would otherwise require cutting or dismantling.

The TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge measures from 1.2 to 225.0mm with a minimum display unit of 0.01mm, shown on a 4-digit LCD. Sound velocity can be set from 1000 to 9999m/s, and the TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge can derive velocity from a test block of known thickness. Measuring error is plus or minus (1% of H plus 0.1) mm, where H is the actual thickness. Automatic zero-point calibration corrects system errors and automatic non-linear compensation corrects probe errors to improve accuracy. A coupling indicator shows how well the probe contacts the substrate.

Sound velocities for five materials can be stored directly, removing the need to look them up in a conversion table, and ten thickness values are retained after the unit is switched off. Low-voltage indication, automatic turn-off and oil-proof protection support extended field use. The TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge measures 124 x 68 x 27mm, weighs 140g, runs on two AAA 1.5V alkaline cells and operates from 0 to 40 degrees C. The TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

TIME TT2113 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

SKU · TT2113

The TT2113 Low Cost Ultrasonic Material Thickness Gauge is a hand held microprocessor controlled thickness gauge specifically designed for measuring the thickness of metallic and non-metallic materials e.g. aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics, glass and other good ultrasonic wave-conducting as long as the material has parallel top and bottom surfaces.

  • Automatic calibration of zero point automatically correct the system errors
  • Automatic non-linear compensation computer software is used to correct the non-linear errors of the probe for the purpose of improving the accuracy
  • The upward and downward adjustment keys enable prompt selection of sound velocity, thickness, and check the thickness memory units
  • Signal indication of how good well coupled the probe is to the substrate
  • Sound velocity can be measured according to the test block's thickness
  • Ten thickness values can be stored without loss after turn-off
  • Sound velocity of five different materials can be stored directly no need to search in the conversion table
  • Low voltage indication and Automatic turn-off
  • Oil proof protection for longer service life

When to use the TIME TT2113 Thickness Gauge

Use the TT2113 when you need a low-cost handheld gauge to measure material thickness on parts with parallel top and bottom surfaces. It reads 1.2 to 225.0 mm on metals and non-metals such as aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics and glass, storing the sound velocities of up to five materials for quick switching.

  • 1
    Covers metal and non-metal
It measures aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics and glass, so one gauge handles a mix of materials that conduct ultrasonic waves well.
  • 2
    Coupling signal indicator
An indication of how well the probe is coupled to the surface helps the operator avoid false readings on rough or contaminated material.
  • 3
    Stores five sound velocities
Saving the sound velocity of five materials lets you switch between jobs without looking up and re-entering conversion values each time.

Frequently asked questions

What materials does the TT2113 measure?

It measures metallic and non-metallic materials including aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics and glass. Materials must have parallel top and bottom surfaces and conduct ultrasonic waves effectively.

What thickness range can the TT2113 measure?

The measuring range is 1.2 to 225.0 mm with display resolution of 0.01 mm.

What measurement accuracy does it provide?

Accuracy is ±(1% of the measured thickness plus 0.1 mm). For a 100 mm measurement, this equals ±1.1 mm; for 50 mm, it equals ±0.6 mm.

Can the TT2113 be calibrated for different materials?

Yes. The sound velocity adjustment ranges from 1000 to 9999 m/s, allowing calibration for different materials and measurement conditions.

Is the TT2113 portable for site work?

Yes. It operates on two AAA alkaline cells, weighs 140 g and measures 124 x 68 x 27 mm. Operating temperature range is 0 to 40°C.

What surface conditions does the TT2113 require?

The material must have flat, parallel top and bottom surfaces for accurate measurement.
