The TIME Concrete Thickness Gauge TC300 measures the thickness of non-metallic plates, and concrete slabs in particular, without coring or drilling. Confirming slab thickness matters because a slab that is thinner than designed may not carry its intended load, and on site there is often no other way to verify the as-built thickness once the concrete is poured.

The TIME Concrete Thickness Gauge TC300 works by reading the distribution characteristics of an electromagnetic field set up between a transmitting transducer on one face and a receiving transducer on the other. It gives a direct digital read-out of the thickness value, which removes the inaccuracy of manual comparison, and uses a sound alarm and a signal strength bar to help the operator position the transducers for an accurate reading. It also performs real-time analysis, data logging and output through RS232 and USB to a PC.

The measuring range is 40 to 820mm, with an accuracy of plus or minus 1mm from 40 to 600mm and plus or minus 2mm from 601 to 820mm. It stores up to 32000 test records across 4000 components on a large graphic display. The TIME Concrete Thickness Gauge TC300 measures 210 x 153 x 90mm, weighs 880g, runs on six AA batteries and operates from minus 10 to 40 degrees C. Used in concrete testing and structural inspection, it is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
