About this product

The AZ 8686 High Accuracy pH Meter is a pen-size, fully waterproof instrument that measures pH from 0.00 to 14.00 for water quality testing. Knowing the precise pH of a water sample is the starting point for controlling water treatment chemistry, maintaining aquaculture and pool conditions, and confirming that process water sits within its required range, so accuracy and stable readings matter.

The 8686 measures pH at 0.01 resolution with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.05, and reads temperature from 0 to 60.0 degrees C at 0.1 degree resolution. A large dual LCD shows pH and temperature at the same time, with automatic temperature compensation applied so readings stay accurate as the sample temperature changes. A measuring stability indicator confirms when a reading has settled, and one-touch auto-calibration supports up to three points with adjustable calibration values. The housing carries an IP65 waterproof rating, and a semi-transparent protective cap keeps the electrode moist to extend its service life, which is typically more than six months with good maintenance. A data hold function freezes readings on screen, while a low battery indicator and automatic power-off conserve the four LR44 cells.

It suits laboratories, water treatment facilities, aquaculture and fish farms, swimming pools, and related industries. Compact at about 115 g, the 8686 is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
