The Elcometer 4695 Brushout Cards are Leneta test charts made for informal brushout applications, used to assess coatings applied with a brush or roller. The paper stock is almost twice the thickness of regular chart paper, with a nominal thickness of 0.5mm, giving greater rigidity for more convenient handling. The cards are also used widely for drawdowns and colourimetric measurements.

Test charts let a coatings laboratory judge properties such as hide, opacity and colour under controlled conditions, so a paint can be evaluated before it goes into production. To keep those measurements honest, the charts are made from naturally bright, non-fluorescent white paper containing no optical brighteners, which would otherwise distort instrumental colour readings.

The range is supplied in three Leneta patterns, 2DX, 5DX and WDX, each available by the box (K0004695M005, K0004695M016, K0004695M102) or the case (K0004695M205, K0004695M216, K0004695M302). Charts measure 98 x 152mm, with 500 per box at a box weight of 3.18kg and 4 boxes per case, and they are compatible with the Elcometer 4340 Motorised Film Applicator. The cards can be used in accordance with AS/NZS 1580.213.1, ASTM D 344, ASTM D 2805, ASTM D 2486, ASTM D 5150, ASTM D 6441, BS 3900-D4, DIN 53162-2, FTMS 141 4121 and ISO 2814, the recognised methods for hiding power, contrast ratio and related coating tests.
