The Elcometer 4900 Free Standing Vacuum Tables (part numbers K0004900M001 and K0004900M002) provide a flat surface for the manual application of films onto test charts or samples. If a test piece lifts or distorts while a film is drawn down, the film thickness varies and the test becomes unrepeatable, so keeping the substrate absolutely flat is essential to reliable coatings work.

Made of perforated aluminium, the Elcometer 4900 holds a wide range of test pieces flat, with a variation of 2.3 micrometres over a 100 mm length. The perforated bed suits thicker, more substantial test pieces including glass, plastic sheets and contrast charts. The tables are built to be flat and precise with little variation, and are five times flatter than glass, which gives a consistent reference plane for every draw-down.

Two sizes are available. The K0004900M001 takes A4 paper with a table size of 305 x 225 mm, and the K0004900M002 takes A3 paper with a table size of 521.75 x 305 mm. A vacuum pump (KT004930M001) supplies the vacuum that holds the test pieces down.
