The Elcometer 6910 Setaflash 'Series 8' Active-Cool Closed Cup Tester (part number K6910M021) is a closed cup flash point tester with a temperature range of -30 degrees C to 135 degrees C that requires no external cooling. Flash point determines the lowest temperature at which a liquid gives off enough vapour to ignite, which sets how a substance is classified, transported and stored, so accurate flash point testing is central to chemical safety and regulatory compliance.
The Elcometer 6910 Setaflash uses Peltier cell technology for both heating and cooling, giving precise temperature control and rapid cool down after a test. It tests a small sample of 2 ml or 4 ml depending on the method and offers Flash/No Flash and Ramp modes, along with an electric ignitor. In Rapid Equilibrium mode a test takes 1 minute below 100 degrees C and 2 minutes above, while Ramp mode typically takes 7 minutes; cool down from 80 degrees C to 20 degrees C takes 4 minutes.
