The Elcometer 6910 Setaflash 'Series 8' Closed Cup Tester (part number K6910M020) is an automated closed cup flash point tester with a temperature range of ambient to 300 degrees C. Flash point is the lowest temperature at which a liquid gives off enough vapour to ignite, and determining it accurately governs how a product is classified, transported and stored, so automated detection and rapid cycling improve both result consistency and laboratory throughput.
Test parameters, instrument status and flash point results are shown on a bright colour LCD display, navigated by keypad. The Elcometer 6910 Setaflash 'Series 8' Closed Cup Tester uses an electric hot wire ignitor and offers two modes of operation. In Ramp mode the sample temperature increases at 2 degrees C/min and the ignitor dips automatically every 1 degree C up to 100 degrees C, then every 2 degrees C above, until a flash is detected or the end temperature is reached. Automatic flash detection ignores halo and other false flash effects to reduce inaccurate results and improve repeatability. After each test the cup is cooled by forced air, going from 80 degrees C to 20 degrees C in 4 minutes.
The tester takes a 2ml or 4ml sample according to method and runs Rapid Equilibrium tests in 1 minute below 100 degrees C and 2 minutes above, with Ramp mode typically taking 7 minutes. The cup is aluminium. It measures 300 x 340 x 380mm and weighs 8kg. It can be used in accordance with ASTM D3278, ASTM D3828, ASTM D7236, ASTM E502, BS 2000-523, CLP Regulations EC No 1272/2008, EPA 1020 A and B, ISO 3679 and ISO 3680. Used in fuels, coatings, chemical and petrochemical testing, it is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

Product Description
Product Description
The Elcometer 6910 Setaflash 'Series 8' is an automated closed cup tester with a temperature range of ambient to 300°C
Test parameters, instrument status and flash point results are shown on the bright colour LCD display - all easily accessed via menus, navigated by the keypad, which guides the operator through a straightforward testing process.
The instrument uses an electric hot wire ignitor and is designed with two modes of flash point operation: Flash/No Flash and Ramp. Ramp Mode increases the sample temperature at the rate of 2°C/min and automatically dips the ignitor every 1°C up to 100°C (every 2°C above 100°C), until either a flash is detected, or the end of test temperature is reached.
During the test the automatic flash point is set to ignore halo and other false flash effects reducing the risk of inaccurate test results and enhancing repeatability. At the end of the flash point test, the sample cup is cooled by forced air to reduce the cycle time between tests.
Up to 64 results can be stored in the memory which can be downloaded to a PC or printer via USB for further reporting.
