Dakota Underwater Transducers are a range of submersible material and coating thickness probes (part numbers T-9441-1809, T-074-9906, T-174-9700, T-9441-2809, T-074-2906 and T-074-2006) built for ultrasonic thickness measurement during offshore and underwater inspections. Divers and ROV teams use them to gauge remaining wall thickness on submerged steelwork, hulls, jackets and pipelines, where corrosion and pitting below the waterline can go unseen until it threatens structural integrity.

The range covers three frequencies: 2.25 MHz, 3.50 MHz and 5.00 MHz, each with a 1/2 inch probe diameter. Both single element membrane and dual element versions are offered, with dual element probes suited to corroded and pitted surfaces. Several models support ThruPaint measurement, allowing readings to be taken without removing the coating, and are potted for submerged service.

Damping is specified per part number: S is a standard undamped transducer, CT is a damped coating thickness transducer, and H is a highly damped transducer. Connection options across the range include Lemo UW4 underwater connectors, Top and UX2 fittings, with one 5.00 MHz dual element version (T-074-2006) supplied with a 15 metre cable for deeper work.
