About this product

The Dakota Mini Angle Beam Potted Mini Transducers are single element ultrasonic probes housed in stainless steel for durability, supplied at 5.00 MHz (part numbers MMAP185045, MMAP185060, MMAP185070) and 10.00 MHz (MMAP181045, MMAP181060, MMAP181070). Angle beam transducers introduce sound into a material at a fixed angle to generate shear waves, which is how inspectors find and size flaws such as cracks in welds that a straight beam probe cannot reach.

Each transducer is built to a fixed refracted angle of 45°, 60° or 70°, letting the operator select the angle that best suits the geometry and the defect being examined. They are medium damped and have a 3/16" probe diameter, and they are built to work with the Trigonometry function of the gauge, which calculates flaw depth and surface distance from the known angle. Both microdot and side connector types are available.

These mini transducers are compatible with the Dakota FX70, FX71, FX80 and FX81 flaw detectors. They are used in ultrasonic non-destructive testing of welds and structures across fabrication, fabrication inspection and corrosion work.
