The Elcometer TORNADO Airless Pump is an air driven airless spray pump built for the harsh environments of the protective coatings industry, available as the Tornado 71 (71:1 ratio) and Tornado 43 (43:1 ratio). The Elcometer TORNADO Airless Pump is built to handle the toughest high volume protective and corrosion resistant coatings in almost all environments, the materials that quickly wear out lighter pumps, and to keep running reliably in both hot and cold climates.

Both models of the Elcometer TORNADO Airless Pump share a 270cc hydraulic cylinder with a 120mm stroke and 270cc output per cycle, an air pressure operating range of 1 to 6 bar and a 4.4 to 60 degree C fluid temperature range. The Tornado 71 reaches a maximum fluid outlet working pressure of 425bar and the Tornado 43 reaches 260bar. Wetted parts are built for durability, with tungsten carbide seats, stainless steel balls and a stainless steel body and piston rod. Dual exhaust silencers and anti-icing technology keep operation quiet, measured at 88dB for the Tornado 71 and 84dB for the Tornado 43 per ISO-9614-2, and prevent internal icing.

Reliability of the Elcometer TORNADO Airless Pump was proven over three years of development, more than 3,640 hours of laboratory and field trials in temperatures from -3 to 52 degree C and over 13.2 million pump cycles. Onsite maintenance takes less than 20 minutes with no special tools, and unique 2-way seat technology lets operators switch between low or standard and high viscosity coatings in the field in under five minutes. Two gun outlets support two spray guns, and the all terrain cart, integrated tool storage and rapid change suction hose suit demanding marine and protective coatings work.
