About this product

The Telaire Ventostat T8041/T8042 CO2 Duct Probe Transmitter is a duct-mounted carbon dioxide transmitter for indoor air quality and energy conservation applications. Mounted in HVAC return air ducts, the Telaire Ventostat T8041/T8042 CO2 Duct Probe Transmitter measures CO2 in the airstream so ventilation can be matched to occupancy, which avoids the energy waste of over-ventilation while keeping indoor air quality within target levels.

Measurement uses a patented absorption infrared gas sensing engine, factory calibrated over a range of 0 to 2000 ppm with a standard 0 to 10 volt output. Accuracy is plus or minus 40 ppm plus 3% of reading at 22 degrees C against a factory certified reference, with non-linearity under 1% of full scale and a typical response time of 3 minutes for a 90% step change at low duct speeds. The patented ABC Logic self-calibration system of the Telaire Ventostat T8041/T8042 CO2 Duct Probe Transmitter corrects for drift to better than plus or minus 20 ppm per year, eliminating manual calibration in most applications and carrying a lifetime calibration guarantee. A gas permeable, water resistant diffusion filter protects the sensor from particulate and water contamination.

The Telaire Ventostat T8041/T8042 CO2 Duct Probe Transmitter is rated for duct air velocity up to 450 metres per minute and operates from 0 to 50 degrees C at 0 to 95% relative humidity, non-condensing. The Telaire Ventostat T8041/T8042 CO2 Duct Probe Transmitter is well suited to larger HVAC return ducts, ships with mounting hardware and instructions, and is available in two probe lengths. Supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

Frequently asked questions

Does the T8041/T8042 require recalibration during operation?

ABC Logic™ automatically corrects for sensor drift to better than ±20 ppm per year, eliminating the need for manual recalibration over the typical 10-year sensor life.

What accuracy should I expect from the T8041/T8042?

Accuracy is ±40 ppm plus 3% of the reading at 22°C when compared to a factory certified reference.

How quickly does the transmitter respond in a duct environment?

Response time is 3 minutes typical for a 90% step change at low duct speeds, with sampling every two seconds.

Will sensor drift affect long-term performance?

Stability is better than 2% of full scale over the sensor's typical 10-year life. ABC Logic™ automatically compensates for drift.

What are the operating environmental conditions?

The transmitter operates from 0°C to 50°C at humidity levels up to 95% (non-condensing). It supports duct air velocities from 0 to 450 metres per minute.

What maintenance is required?

The system is virtually free of maintenance and requires no regular servicing over its typical 10-year lifespan.
