The TIME TC700 Concrete Ultrasonic Tester, also designated the TIME TC700 Non-Metal Ultrasonic Tester, detects internal defects in concrete and other non-metal materials. The TIME TC700 Concrete Ultrasonic Tester measures crack depth, homogeneity and the thickness of damaged layers, and is also used for concrete strength testing, pile integrity inspection and thickness measurement.
Defects such as voids, honeycombing and deep cracks are hidden inside a concrete element and can compromise its load capacity without showing at the surface. Ultrasonic pulse testing reveals these flaws non-destructively by timing how sound travels through the material, so engineers can verify quality, assess damage and check pile integrity without coring.
The TIME TC700 Concrete Ultrasonic Tester is built around a dedicated microcomputer system with dual-channel, real-time waveform display refreshing at more than 30fps, and automatic interpretation of acoustic parameters including sound time, amplitude and frequency. Acoustic time reads from 0 to 640kµs with a readability of plus or minus 0.05µs, amplitude from 0 to 177dB, and transmission voltage is adjustable across 250, 500 and 1000V. Receiver sensitivity is 10µV or better, channel isolation no less than 42dB, and maximum penetration reaches 10m in concrete. Results show on a 640 x 480 display, with parallel and USB interfaces. The built-in lithium battery of the TIME TC700 Concrete Ultrasonic Tester runs for 6 hours, extendable to 8 to 10 hours on an external battery, and the unit weighs 1.8kg.
Used in concrete testing, foundation and structural assessment, the TIME TC700 Concrete Ultrasonic Tester is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

Frequently asked questions
How long will the TC700 operate on a single charge in the field?
The built-in lithium battery supplies continuous power for 6 hours. For extended field work, an external large capacity battery extends operation to 8 to 10 hours.
What is the maximum concrete depth the TC700 can measure?
The maximum penetration distance is 10 metres. This allows measurement of crack depth, homogeneity, thickness of damaged layers, and pile integrity across thick concrete sections.
Why does the TC700 have dual channels?
Dual channel design with no less than 42dB isolation lets you compare or cross-reference measurements simultaneously, improving confidence in defect detection and thickness readings.
Can I export measurement data from the TC700 to a computer?
Yes. The TC700 has a USB port and parallel port interface for transferring data to external systems, allowing you to log and analyse results.
Is the TC700 portable for site-based concrete inspection?
Yes. At 1.8kg and 250mm x 200mm x 100mm, the TC700 is compact and lightweight for hand-held field inspection of concrete strength, pile integrity, and internal defects.
