The 8901 Anemometer is a remote vane air flow meter used to measure air velocity and free area air flow volume, with temperature read through a built-in thermistor in the vane head. It answers a common ventilation question, how much air is actually moving through a duct or opening, by giving an instant display of CFM and CMS alongside temperature so air volume can be calculated in seconds.

A mode selector switches between air velocity and free area air flow volume measurement, and the meter can display multiple engineering units. Single point and multi point averaging is supported, with an averaged reading taken from up to eight data points, and a data hold function freezes the displayed value on a large LCD. The measured air flow range is 0.4 to 35 m/sec with air flow accuracy of plus or minus 2% of full scale, and the temperature range covers -10 to 50 degrees C. Minimum and maximum values are held in memory, and an auto power off at 20 minutes can be disabled.

The unit measures 181 x 71 x 38 mm, runs on a single 9V battery, has a low battery indicator and ships with a hard plastic carrying case and manual. Optional USB software with a PC cable allows data transfer. This product is discontinued.
