Corrosion Awareness Day 2026 – A Successful Gathering in Midrand

24 April 2026 marked World Corrosion Awareness Day, and BAMR was proud to participate in the event hosted by the Corrosion Institute of Southern Africa at The Accolades Boutique Venue in Midrand.

It was a fantastic day of meaningful engagement with industry professionals, asset owners, engineers, and fellow corrosion specialists. We had the opportunity to showcase practical corrosion engineering solutions, including advanced inspection instruments and coating thickness gauges that help extend asset life and reduce costly failures.

A major highlight was Graham Duk’s live interview on Coastal Radio. Graham shared valuable insights on the real-world impact of corrosion in South Africa, the importance of proactive corrosion prevention, and how proper asset integrity management can save companies millions in maintenance and downtime.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone who visited the BAMR stand. It was great connecting with so many of you, discussing your specific challenges, and exploring how the right inspection tools can support your corrosion control programmes.

Events like these remind us why raising awareness about corrosion is so critical — it affects infrastructure, safety, the environment, and the economy. At BAMR, we remain committed to supplying reliable, high-quality instruments that help South African industry fight corrosion effectively.

Stay tuned for more photos and insights from the day. If you missed the event and would like to discuss your corrosion inspection or coatings measurement needs, feel free to contact us.

Protect your assets. Prevent corrosion. Measure with confidence.
