The Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter, part number GRN3100, is a handheld instrument for measuring the moisture content and temperature of crops. Accurate moisture readings matter at harvest and in storage, because grain that is too wet spoils, heats or is downgraded at the point of sale, while readings let the user decide when a crop is fit to store or trade.
The Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter is pre-programmed with 15 crop calibrations, each of which can be adjusted individually to match commercially used instruments. The Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter is supplied with an integrated grinder-compressor unit, so the user can grind a sample and take a moisture reading quickly and simply. Calibrations include Wheat, Barley, Oats, Oilseed, Rape, Canola, Linseed, Peas, Corn, Sunflower, Coffee, Soya, Rice, Sorghum, Paddy and Beans, alongside a 0 to 100 relative scale. Moisture ranges vary by crop, for example wheat from 11.3 to 29.3 and linseed from 7.0 to 16.5. The LCD reads to a resolution of 0.1, and the operating temperature range is 0 degrees C to 40 degrees C.
With its grinder-compressor unit the Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter weighs 1 kg, measures 195 mm by 185 mm by 100 mm and runs on a single 6F22R 9V battery. Optional probes extend the use of the Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter to measuring temperature in stored grain and moisture levels in baled hay and straw. The Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter ships with a grain cup, sample spoon, brush and Quickcheck, and is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

When to use the Grainmaster i2 Moisture Meter
The Grainmaster i2 measures moisture and temperature across crops, with 15 pre-programmed calibrations covering wheat, barley, oats, oilseed rape, canola, corn, coffee, soya, rice, sorghum, paddy and beans. Reach for it at intake, drying and storage when you need a fast moisture figure to decide whether grain is fit to store, sell or dry.
- 1Ground sample readings on siteThe integrated grinder-compressor unit lets you take readings from ground samples quickly, so you can check a load on site rather than sending it to a lab.
- 2Fifteen crops, one meterPre-programmed calibrations for crops from wheat to coffee mean a single instrument handles a mixed intake without you swapping equipment between commodities.
- 3Adjustable to your reference instrumentEach calibration can be adjusted individually to match commercially used instruments, which matters when you are settling trades against an agreed standard.
- 4Probes for stored grain and balesOptional probes extend it to temperature in stored grain and moisture in baled hay and straw, so the same meter follows the crop from intake into storage.
