About this product

The Elcometer 102 Needle Pressure Gauge, part number E102-A, measures air pressure in blast and air hoses on abrasive blasting systems. Its hypodermic needle pierces the hose to read the working pressure at the point that matters.

Pressure drop along a blast line is responsible for decreased production rates, increased abrasive consumption and reduced anchor profile, all of which raise cost and compromise surface preparation quality. Checking pressure at the nozzle end of the hose, rather than at the compressor, shows the pressure the abrasive is actually delivered at, so operators can identify losses and correct them before they affect the blast.

The Elcometer 102 Needle Pressure Gauge has a measuring range of 0 to 300 psi (0 to 20 bar). Pressure limitations are three quarters of full scale for steady pressure, two thirds for fluctuating pressure and full scale for short time use. The Elcometer 102 Needle Pressure Gauge operates from -20 to 60 degrees C, measures 133 x 58 x 28.5 mm and weighs 110 g. It is supplied with a pressure gauge guard, a spare hypodermic needle, a protective pouch and operating instructions for the Elcometer 102 Needle Pressure Gauge.

The Elcometer 102 Needle Pressure Gauge is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor of Elcometer equipment.

    Frequently asked questions

What pressure range does the Elcometer 102 measure?

The gauge measures 0 to 300 psi (0 to 20 bar). For steady continuous operation, keep pressure below 225 psi. This range covers most abrasive blasting systems.

Can I use this gauge on hoses with pressure fluctuations?

Yes. The gauge handles steady pressures to 225 psi, fluctuating pressures to 200 psi, and short-term spikes to 300 psi. This suits most blasting line conditions.

What temperature range does this gauge operate in?

The Elcometer 102 operates from -20°C to 60°C. This covers typical blasting workshop conditions and outdoor environments across most climates.

How portable is this gauge for on-site use?

The compact size of 133 x 58 x 28.5 mm and lightweight 110 g design make it easy to carry and use at multiple blast sites or in the field.

What if the needle gets damaged?

Replacement needles are available in packs of two (part T10229425), allowing quick field replacement without returning the entire gauge.
