A lightweight impeller running on high precision jewel bearings gives accurate airflow measurement even at low speeds, and the impeller can be replaced in the field without returning the unit to Elcometer.
Wind speed is one of the climatic conditions that determines whether outdoor coating, spraying or surface preparation work can proceed: applying paint in the wrong wind can cause overspray, contamination and a failed finish, so a reliable on-site reading informs the decision to go ahead or wait. The Elcometer 410 Anemometer measures over an operating range of 0.4 to 60m/s, with a specification range of 0.4 to 40m/s and on-axis accuracy of ±3% of the reading or the least significant digit, whichever is greater. Readings can be shown in knots, metres per second, kilometres per hour, miles per hour, feet per minute or Beaufort Force, and display modes cover current 3 second average speed, average since power on and the maximum 3 second gust.
The Elcometer 410 Anemometer is made from high impact injection moulded plastic and corrosion resistant materials, is waterproof to IP67 with fully sealed electronics, and will float if dropped. The clear LCD uses large 9mm digits, the Elcometer 410 Anemometer runs on a CR2032 lithium coin cell, and at 65g it is easily carried on site. Used by coatings inspectors and applicators working outdoors, the Elcometer 410 Anemometer is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
