The Leica DISTO D5 is a laser distance meter particularly suited to distance measurements in outdoor areas. Aiming over long distances and in bright conditions is often the limiting factor outdoors, so the digital Pointfinder with 4-fold zoom lets the operator see the target clearly even in sunshine, while the large IPS display keeps both the target and the measurement results readable.

The Leica DISTO D5 measures distance with a Class 2, 635 nm laser. Accuracy is 1.0 mm under favourable conditions and 2.0 mm under unfavourable conditions, with a range of 0.05 to 200 m under favourable conditions and 0.05 to 120 m under unfavourable conditions, measured to ISO 16331-1, the standard that defines how laser distance meter accuracy and range are determined. The smallest unit displayed is 0.1 mm, and X-Range Power Technology supports the long-distance performance of the Leica DISTO D5. A 360 degree tilt sensor with plus or minus 0.2 degree tolerance enables Smart Horizontal Mode, height tracking, and profile or angle measurements, and gestures can trigger a reading for maximum accuracy at distance.

Results transfer to the DISTO Plan app or to Excel templates over Bluetooth v5.0 (range up to 10 m) for an error-free digital workflow. The Leica DISTO D5 is rated IP54, runs up to 5,000 measurements or 10 hours on its 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery, weighs 180 g and operates from -10 to 50 degrees C.
