The Leica DISTO X6 is a laser distance meter built for rough construction sites. Site conditions cause most failures of measuring tools, so the extremely robust IP65 housing, which protects against dust and water jets and is drop tested from 2 m, underlines the reliability and durability needed where the Leica DISTO X6 is handled hard and exposed to the elements.
The Leica DISTO X6 measures distance with a Class 2, 635 nm laser (under 1 mW). Accuracy is 1.0 mm under favourable conditions and 2.0 mm under unfavourable conditions, with a range of 0.05 to 250 m under favourable conditions and 0.05 to 150 m under unfavourable conditions, and a smallest displayed unit of 0.1 mm. Start-up is ready in under one second. A digital Pointfinder with 4-fold zoom aids aiming over distance, a 360 degree tilt sensor with plus or minus 0.2 degree tolerance enables Smart Horizontal Mode, height tracking and profile or angle measurements, and a 7.11 cm IPS touchscreen with scratch-proof lens plus a side DIST key make operation intuitive. Gestures can trigger a reading.
Memory holds up to 300 reports and 1000 captured 3D points. The Leica DISTO X6 works with the DISTO Plan app on iOS and Android and DISTO transfer on Windows, transferring data over Bluetooth 5.0 (range up to 10 m), with USB-C charging and download, and P2P measuring via the DST 360-X adapter. The Li-Ion 2,000 mAh battery of the Leica DISTO X6 gives up to 4,000 measurements or 8 hours, and the unit weighs 230 g and operates from -10 to 50 degrees C.
The Leica DISTO X6 is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

Frequently asked questions
What accuracy can I expect from the DISTO X6?
Accuracy is 1.0 mm under favourable conditions. In unfavourable conditions it is 2.0 mm. The smallest unit the display shows is 0.1 mm.
Is the DISTO X6 tough enough for a rough construction site?
Yes. It has an IP65 rating (dust tight and protected against water jets) and is drop tested from a height of 2 m, which is the level of durability the X6 is built for on rough sites.
What is the maximum measuring range of the X6?
Under favourable conditions the range is 0.05 to 250 m. Under unfavourable conditions it drops to 0.05 to 150 m.
Can the X6 measure tilt or slope, not just distance?
Yes. It has a 360 degree tilt measuring range with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.2 degrees, so inclines and slopes on site can be measured directly.
How do I get measurement data off the X6 and onto another device?
The X6 has Bluetooth Smart v5.0 with a range of up to 10 m for transferring readings. It also stores up to 300 reports in its own memory.
How long will the X6 run between charges?
The Li-Ion 2,000 mAh battery supports up to 4,000 measurements or up to 8 hours of operation. The laser switches off automatically after 90 seconds and the unit powers off after 180 seconds of inactivity to help preserve battery life.
