About this product

The Elcometer 215 Oven Temperature Profiling System (part numbers G215-DL and T215-DL) is an oven data profiler that records the temperature profile of a product and its oven during the curing process. Coatings need a specific time at a set temperature to fully cure: too little gives a soft, under-cured film that scratches and adheres poorly, while too much causes discolouration, brittleness and loss of coating properties. The profiler provides the temperature evidence to confirm the product experienced the correct thermal cycle, which is the basis for both quality control and process certification.

The logger runs through the oven inside a thermal barrier with up to 8 thermocouple channels, supporting Type K, T, J, N, S, E, B and R sensors. The measurement range is -200 to 1300 degrees C with 0.1 degree C resolution and accuracy of plus or minus 0.5 degrees C from 0 to 500 degrees C and plus or minus 1.0 degrees C above; individual channel compensation maintains the plus or minus 0.5 degrees C figure. Measurement intervals run from 1 per second to 1 per hour, and memory holds 1,000,000 readings across up to 40 batches, enough for a full 7-hour shift at one reading per second. The thermal barrier protects the logger at, for example, 100 degrees C for 180 minutes up to 300 degrees C for 60 minutes. Battery life is 150-plus hours, or it can run on USB.

Data transfers via USB or Bluetooth to ElcoMaster software; mounted outside a batch oven, integrated magnets and a live Bluetooth reading mode give real-time cure status. Used by powder coaters for cure verification, hot and cold spot mapping and line-speed optimisation, it carries a 2-year manufacturer's warranty and is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised Elcometer distributor.
