The Elcometer 106/6 Coatings on Concrete Adhesion Tester (F106-6) is a hand-operated pull-off adhesion gauge built specifically to measure the bond strength of coatings applied to concrete. Poor adhesion between a coating and a concrete substrate leads to flaking, delamination and premature failure of protective and decorative finishes, so a measured pull-off value gives inspectors objective evidence that a coating meets its specification before a structure is put into service.

The Elcometer 106/6 Coatings on Concrete Adhesion Tester works on the same principle as the standard Elcometer 106 testers but takes a larger 50mm diameter dolly suited to the variability of concrete surfaces. The dolly is bonded to the prepared coating, and once the adhesive has cured the mechanical gauge applies an increasing perpendicular force until the dolly detaches, recording the tensile pull-off value. The Elcometer 106/6 Coatings reads across a range of 0 to 3.5MPa (N/mm2), or 0 to 500psi, measures 105 x 210mm and ships as a kit with a gross weight of 5.7kg.

The Elcometer 106/6 Coatings on Concrete Adhesion Tester can be used in accordance with ASTM D 7234, BS 1881-207, DIN 1048-2, EN 1542 and EN 12636, the recognised standards for adhesion of coatings and repair products on concrete.
