The Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge (part number PG70) is a handheld ultrasonic gauge for measuring thin substrates where pinpoint accuracy matters. Thin-walled components and precision parts need thickness verified to fine tolerances, and a general corrosion gauge cannot resolve the small differences involved. The Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge measures down to fine increments and can calibrate to a range of different materials using a single point calibration, making it suited to thin material applications.
The Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge uses Interface-Echo (IE) and Echo-Echo (EE) ThruPaint technology, with an auto-switchable mode between the two. Its measurement range is 0.15 to 25.40mm, with ±0.002mm accuracy and 0.001mm resolution across a velocity calibration range of 1250 to 10,000m/s. A single element transducer with a delay tip (1 to 20MHz) supports the high resolution, and automatic V-path correction maintains accuracy. The Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge takes 4 readings per second for single point measurements, or 8 per second in scan mode, which captures the minimum thickness across an area.
Differential mode displays the thickness variation (+/-) against a user-defined nominal value, while the limit alarm lets the user set allowable thickness limits. Internal data logging records readings for output over RS232. The LCD of the Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge shows 12.7mm high digits in millimetres or inches, with an on/off/auto backlight, and the aluminium housing has gasket-sealed end caps and a waterproof membrane keypad. Used where precise thickness of thin sections must be verified, the Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge
When pinpoint accuracy is the key, the variety of features offered in the Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges allows users to measure with precision. The Elcometer NDT PG70 Precision Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge series of ultrasonic precision thickness gauges have ThruPaint™ technology allowing you to accurately measure the thickness of thin substrates. These handheld ultrasonic gauges are typically used for thin material applications. This precision gauge also has the ability to calibrate to a variety of different materials using the one point calibration option.
