About this product

The TT 2110 Low Cost Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Material Thickness Gauge (part number TT 2110) is a handheld, microprocessor-controlled thickness gauge for measuring metallic and non-metallic materials, including aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics and glass, provided the material conducts ultrasound and has parallel top and bottom surfaces. Measuring from a single accessible face, the TT 2110 Low Cost Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Material Thickness Gauge is used to monitor pipes and pressure vessels for thickness loss due to corrosion, where the inner or back surface cannot be reached directly.

The TT 2110 Low Cost Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Material Thickness Gauge measures from 1.2 to 225.0mm, probe dependent, with a resolution of 0.1 up to 99.9mm and an accuracy of plus or minus 1% of material thickness plus 0.1mm. The sound velocity range of the TT 2110 Low Cost Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Material Thickness Gauge is 1000 to 9999m/s. After a simple calibration to a known thickness or velocity, the gauge gives fast readings in millimetres on a 4-digit LCD. Sound velocities for five materials can be pre-set and ten thickness readings stored in memory. Non-linear automatic compensation improves accuracy, while coupling status and low-voltage indication confirm reliable readings in the field.

The standard probe for the TT 2110 Low Cost Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Material Thickness Gauge runs at 5MHz with a 12mm tip and a minimum pipe size of 20 x 3mm; optional probes cover thin materials, thick rough-surfaced materials and high temperatures up to 300 degrees C. Auto power off conserves the two AA alkaline cells, which give around 250 hours per set. The TT 2110 Low Cost Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Material Thickness Gauge measures 126 x 68 x 23mm, weighs 170g and works from -5 to 40 degrees C. The TT 2110 is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

SKU · TT 2110

The TT 2110 Low Cost Material Thickness Gauge is a hand held microprocessor controlled thickness gauge specifically designed for measuring the thickness of metallic and non-metallic materials e.g. aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics, glass and other good ultrasonic wave-conducting as long as the material has parallel top and bottom surfaces.

  • Easy to use After a simple calibration to a known thickness or sound velocity, the gauge will give fast and accurate readings in millimetres.
  • Pre-set sound velocities Sound velocities for 5 different materials can be pre-set.
  • Memory storage 10 thickness readings can be stored in the memory.
  • Versatile applications Can perform precise measurements on various types of raw materials, components parts, and assembled machinery. Can also be used to monitor all types of pipes and pressure vessels for loss of thickness due to corrosion.

When to use the TT 2110 thickness gauge

Use the TT 2110 when you need fast, low-cost thickness readings on materials with parallel top and bottom surfaces, including aluminium, titanium, plastics, ceramics and glass. After a simple calibration to a known thickness or sound velocity it reads in millimetres, making it suited to checking raw materials, component parts and assembled machinery. It also monitors pipes and pressure vessels for corrosion thinning.

  • 1
    Simple calibrate-and-read
Calibration to a known thickness or sound velocity gets you to fast millimetre readings quickly, which keeps routine checks moving on the shop floor.
  • 2
    Five pre-set sound velocities
Pre-set velocities for five materials mean you can switch between common materials without re-deriving the velocity each time.
  • 3
    Pipe and vessel monitoring
It tracks loss of thickness due to corrosion on pipes and pressure vessels, so it earns its place in a maintenance inspection routine.
  • 4
    Coupling and low-voltage indication
On-screen coupling status and low-voltage warning tell you when a reading is trustworthy and when the battery is fading, reducing bad readings.
