The Tungsten Carbide 45 degree Angled Liner with Aluminium Jacket is an abrasive blast (sandblast) nozzle that directs abrasive at a 45 degree angle, supplied in a wide range of part numbers from MT28442-2C through MT28444-6N. It solves a specific access problem in surface preparation: cleaning surfaces you cannot reach with a straight nozzle, such as behind flanges, around corners and inside pipes, where the angled trajectory lets the abrasive strike the work properly instead of glancing off.
The bore is lined with tungsten carbide, a hard-wearing material that resists the erosion caused by high-velocity abrasive, while the aluminium jacket gives the nozzle strength and endurance in the hand. The compact body is offered in single, double and triple-hole versions and across nozzle sizes from No.2 to No.6, with orifice diameters of 3.2mm (No.2), 4.8mm (No.3), 6.35mm (No.4), 8mm (No.5) and 9.5mm (No.6). Most variants are 88mm long with a 25mm entry diameter. Two thread types are available so the nozzle matches the blast hose fitting: 51mm Contractor thread (the "C" suffix) and 32mm NPSM thread (the "N" suffix).
Used in blast cleaning and corrosion control across structural steel, marine and refinery maintenance, the Tungsten Carbide 45° Angled Liner with Aluminium Jacket is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.

Frequently asked questions
When would I use a 45° angled nozzle instead of a straight one?
The 45° angle is designed for tight and hard-to-reach places such as behind flanges, around corners, or inside pipes. The compact design lets you direct abrasive into confined areas where straight nozzles cannot access.
What's the difference between the various orifice sizes?
The orifice diameter determines abrasive flow rate and impact intensity. Sizes range from 3.2mm (Nozzle #2) to 9.5mm (Nozzle #6). Smaller orifices suit precision work and tighter spaces, whilst larger orifices deliver higher flow for production blasting.
Why does this nozzle come in 1, 2, or 3 hole configurations?
The number of holes affects abrasive spread and coverage. Single-hole nozzles deliver concentrated impact; 2- or 3-hole versions distribute the abrasive across a wider pattern, covering more surface area in a single pass.
What is the purpose of the aluminium jacket?
The aluminium jacket provides strength and endurance, protecting the nozzle from wear and impact damage during abrasive blasting operations.
Does this nozzle work with different thread types?
Yes. The nozzle is available in both 51mm Contractor Thread (C) and NPSM Thread (N) variants, allowing it to connect to different equipment configurations.
