The Elcometer AGV Automatic General Valve (part numbers AGV-B and AGV-N) is a pinch style abrasive metering valve for blast machines, providing precision abrasive control and fail-safe shut down of both the blast stream and media flow. Uncontrolled or wasteful abrasive flow drives up media costs and gives an uneven blast, so a valve that meters accurately and shuts off completely improves both finish quality and running cost.
The Elcometer AGV Automatic General Valve is built for heavy or aggressive abrasives such as shot, grit and aluminium oxide. Its design keeps the valve body out of contact with the abrasive stream, so only the long life elcoTOUGH rubber valve liner touches the media. A built-in fail-safe shuts off both the blast stream and media flow at the handle quickly and safely, giving 100% abrasive shut off and reducing wastage. A built-in media flow indicator lets the operator adjust media flow even while blasting, for an even, regulated flow, and a separate indicator shows rubber liner wear.
The Elcometer AGV Automatic General Valve is tested to a maximum working pressure of 15bar and fits most abrasive blast machines on the market. Servicing is fast: the elcoTOUGH rubber valve liner of the Elcometer AGV Automatic General Valve can be replaced with just two bolts, without removing the valve from the blast machine. Used in abrasive blasting and surface preparation, the Elcometer AGV Automatic General Valve is supplied by BAMR, South Africa's authorised distributor.
